What: The January 2012 OKC meeting featuring a virtual presentation by Morrell "Mo" Devlin, aka "AquaMojo" -- internationally known photographer of aquarium fish!



When: Saturday, January 14, 1:00 pm.

Where: OU Health Sciences Center Robert M. Bird Library auditorium (see map below).

Why: Virtual Presentation, chat, auction, raffle, and more!

Who: You! You do not need to be a member to attend or to participate in the auction. OKAA is the fish club for everyone!

Mark your calendars! The 2012 meeting schedule for OKAA is as follows:

• Aquapaluza! This spring OKAA will host our first ever International Betta Congress show, complete with speakers and all day auction! To be held in OKC April 28 and 29.
  • April 28: Show and speakers.
  • April 29: All day auction.

• OKC Meetings: The second Saturday of every month except April at the OU Health Sciences Center Library in OKC. Every meeting features a speaker, auction, raffle, door prizes, chat, and more! This year we'll bring you live, interactive, virtual presentations with world class speakers including the following:
  • January: Mo Devlin on aquarium photography -- an internationally recognized photographer tells us how to take beautiful photos and how to make those photos look even better through editing!
  • February: Randy Carey on "Spawning the Scatterers" -- one of the most successful breeders of tetras, barbs, rasboras, pencilfish, and other egg scatters tell us how he does it!
  • March: Vin Kutty on pike cichlids -- one of the world's experts on pike cichlids will tell us about this beautiful and diverse group of fish, with 200 species ranging from dwarfs to monsters!
  • April: No monthly meeting -- we'll do Aquapaluza instead!
  • ...

• Tulsa Meetings: The third Sunday of every month except April at the Tulsa Zoo. Each meeting will feature a rebroadcast of the OKC virtual presentation, plus auction, raffle, door prizes, chat, and more! See OKC meeting list for speaker lineup!

OKAA -- the fish club for everyone! You do not need to be an OKAA member to attend OKAA events or participate in OKAA auctions.

Join us for the December 2011 OKAA meeting! We're having a party!

What: OKAA Annual Holiday Celebration, with potluck meal, auction, raffle, conversation, fun, and more.

Who: OKAA members and prospective members and their families and friends. Yes, bring the kids!

Why: For a fishy good time!

Where: Tulsa Zoo - Helmerich Discovery Center.

Notes: Let the people at the gate know you are here for the OKAA meeting and you get free admission to the Zoo, You can't beat that deal!

Who: OKAA's own Dean Hougen (who is also on the American Cichlid Association Board of Trustees) on Some Freshwater Habitats of South America!
